SchoolFinder Egypt is a school discovery and review platform for parents in Egypt.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
Name — your display name from Google Sign-In, shown on reviews you write
Email address — used to identify your account via Google Sign-In
Reviews — star ratings and text reviews you submit for schools
Suggested edits — school data corrections you submit through the app
1.2 Information collected automatically
User ID — a unique identifier assigned by Firebase when you sign in
Anonymous usage data — basic app interaction data used to improve the service
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
Your device location
Your contacts or phone book
Your photos or files
Financial or payment information
Health or biometric data
2. How We Use Your Data
To display your name alongside reviews you write
To allow you to submit and manage your reviews and suggested edits
To moderate content and prevent spam or abuse
To improve the accuracy of school data through community contributions
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.
3. Data Sharing
We use the following third-party services which may process your data:
Firebase (Google) — for storing reviews and suggested edits securely. Governed by Firebase Privacy Policy.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
4. Data Security
All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
Data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure)
Access to your data is restricted to the app developer
5. Guest Access
You can browse all schools and school profiles without creating an account.
Sign-in is only required to write reviews or submit suggested edits.
Guest sessions use anonymous Firebase authentication — no personal data is collected.
6. Account and Data Deletion
🗑️ How to request deletion of your account and data:
Include the email address associated with your account
We will process your request within 30 days
What gets deleted upon request:
Your account (Google Sign-In unlinked from our app)
All reviews you have submitted
All school edit suggestions you have submitted
Your user ID from our database
What is retained:
Anonymous, non-identifiable usage data that cannot be linked back to you
Partial deletion (without deleting your account):
You may also request deletion of specific data — such as individual reviews —
without deleting your entire account. Contact us at the same email address with details of what you would like removed.
7. Children's Privacy
SchoolFinder Egypt is designed for parents and adults aged 18 and above.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately
at melbadawy@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access — request a copy of data we hold about you
Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion — request deletion of your account and data (see Section 6)
Portability — request your data in a portable format
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the
"Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
